Our Philosophy
"A beech tree is a beech tree. It isn't trying to be an oak. Nor is a pine tree trying to be a birch although each makes the other more beautiful when seen together."
Frank Lloyd Wright
Location
Essex County boasts a wonderful variety of landscapes. Our work sites range from rocky coastlines to rural horse farms, from beachfront properties to small village houses. Each require a unique interpretation of how our architecture might respond to each individual environment. We are sensitive to this vast variety and strive to make our designs work with and enhance the landscape, not compete with it. We want a subtlety to our buildings so that they look as though they are a natural part of their location or even appear as if they have always been there.
This aesthetic informs our design work in other locations, as well. Our close study of landscape and history produces beautiful and appropriate designs in places as diverse as Maine, Nantucket, and the Caribbean Islands.
